Hey,

I'm Melissa

I am an adventure loving commercial photographer. I moved to the Wentzville MO in the summer of 2022 and was so happy to have landed in such a great community. Although shutting one photography company down and starting a new one half way across the country is not ideal.  I am happy to have found the communities of Wentzville and Lake St. Louis. You all are so nice!

Where did it all start?

My first big exposure to photos was in high school working at a CVS developing film. I couldn't believe all the places and cool pictures I came across. It sparked my curiosity and eventually led to the creation of Mjoy Photos. It did take me a while to get to Wentzville MO. I started off in Michigan then went to Kansas, Tennessee, Georgia and Pennsylvania. Living in so many different places has given me a unique perspective on how I view things, this translates to you getting photos that are like no one else's in the area.

Passion

I am not afraid to climb a mountain to make sure my clients needs are taken care of, figuratively or literally. I am consistently strolling and hiking all the local parks in Wentzville, Lake St. Louis and the surrounding area. I do this so I always know where all the good spots are so you don't have to. I am also very laid back with sharp attention to detail. This tends to make people feel at ease when getting their picture taken with me and going though the process of laying out what they want their shoot to be like. My attention to detail ensures that all of your photos are carefully edited so that you get the best results.

What is my favorite session to do?

Portrait sessions are my favorite. Watching my clients transform in to the most beautiful version of themselves and the confidence that comes out is so amazing. The effect of having your hair and make up done and putting on an amazing outfit has an amazing effect on everyone. Watching and capturing that confidence come though brings a ton of joy to me. After a portrait session watching my clients look at beautiful art of themselves is priceless. Portrait session can also transform into many different things. They can be indoors or outdoors. The possibilities and creativity that it brings is very enjoyable.

Why Wentzville?

Well the short answer is my husband's job moved us here. If that doesn't satisfy you, keep reading to find out more. First I was blown away by the sense of community in Wentzville. Every time I met someone they were so nice and helpful. A big difference from living in Philadelphia PA. After a few months of living here and shutting down my photography business in PA I started to look more into both Wentzville and Lake St. Louis, because I apparently moved right dead smack in the middle of the two towns. This is what happens when you buy in the most crazy time and don't look at the house. It worked out for me but I don't recommend this. I repeat don't do this. I digress, what I found in Wentzville and Lake St. Louis is that it offers a great supportive community, a very fast growing economy and a great location. I would be stupid if I didn't open up in the area. Wentzville is very pro business and being a commercial photographer you can imagine the light in my eyes when I realized what an amazing place I ended up. I also got out there and started talking with business owners and looking how much Wentzville has grown over the last couple of years. Total no brainer to open!

What do I enjoy the most about living here?

I have no short answer for this one. There are so many great things about Wentzville MO. To start there is the super cute old downtown. Eating and shopping at the adorable places in the old downtown is so much fun and if you havent you need to go there. The train tracks running through the middle of the old town are so cool. I always feel like I am in a movie when I am in the old town Wentzville. I also enjoy having access to so many parks in the St. Charles Park system. I mean wow, you all have no idea how great it is to be just a few minutes from so many great parks! For a nature loving photographer it doesn't get much better than here. You can easily go for a beautiful hike at Quail Ridge Park then hope over to grab lunch and a taste drink in old downtown Wentzville then head over to the parkway to get your groceries and whatever else you need. I mean wow everything seems to be here. Then take a short drive home. So far I haven't been able to find anything that I don't really like about the area. OH and I almost forgot Lake St. Louis, wow that is a great place! Being so close to the lake is amazing! Its also so nice on a warm day to have a meal at a local restaurant overlooking the lake. There are also some businesses and doctors' offices that overlook the lake. Talk about a view while getting things done!
